Rhode Island Primary Election: Here’s What You Need to Know

Rhode Island’s state primary will be held on Sept. 10, as voters will narrow the list of candidates running for state and federal offices. Winners will appear in the general election on Nov. 5.

Early voting begins on Aug. 21. Emergency mail ballots also can be submitted that day; the deadline for both is Sept. 9. Residents who wish to vote by mail must submit applications by 4 p.m. on Aug. 20.

The deadline to receive military and overseas ballots is 4 p.m. on Sept. 13.
