Summary:
Ocean State Media (formerly Rhode Island PBS & The Public’s Radio), serving Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, is seeking a Data Analyst to support our efforts in understanding and growing our audience and strengthening community impact. This role plays an integral part in informing key decisions across the organization by integrating the voice of the audience and community into the business decision-making process.

The Data Analyst is a highly visible role that requires exceptional analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of digital and social channels, as well as an understanding of broadcast metrics and CRM systems. The ideal candidate is naturally curious and can gather, organize, visualize, and translate data from many sources into actionable insights that make a difference.

Specific Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain dashboards in Tableau that track key performance indicators across departments
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand data needs and translate questions into analytical solutions
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources, including Google Analytics, CRM platforms, email systems, and survey tools
  • Be the voice of the audience and the community within the organization and surface insights that inform editorial, programming, engagement and revenue strategies
  • Create clear reports and data visualizations representing actionable insights that support internal decision-making and external communications
  • Help establish organization-wide data standards and promote data literacy among colleagues
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in how we serve and engage Rhode Islanders
  • Present and effectively communicate complex data and both qualitative and quantitative insights across all levels of the organization.

Education / Experience / Qualifications:

  • Required Qualifications
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience in data analysis, research, or reporting with a focus on consumer/audience data
    • Proficient in Tableau, Excel and Google Sheets
    • Proficiency working with digital metrics (e.g., Google Analytics, email engagement, social media analytics and listening tools)
    • Exceptional analytical thinking and mathematical skills
    • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques
    • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across departments
    • Exposure to CRM systems or donor databases
    • Enthusiasm for using data to inform real-world decisions and impact
    • Interest in public media, journalism, education, or nonprofit work
