“Behind the Wings” - Saturdays at 1 p.m. starting Aug. 2, Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. starting Aug. 9

“Behind the Wings” is a video series produced by Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum that gives viewers behind-the-scenes access to aircraft, industry leaders and more.

“Ken Burns: National Parks” - Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 24 at 3:30 p.m.

Explore the beauty and grandeur of our nation’s magnificent parks, from Acadia to Yosemite, Yellowstone to the Grand Canyon. Filmmakers Burns and Dayton Duncan vividly reveal fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the series.

“Space Explorers: Moonrise on the ISS” - Aug. 4 at 2 p.m.

Learn about life aboard the International Space Station and the future of space exploration.

“Atomic Echos: Untold Stories from World War II” - Aug. 6 at 1 p.m.

Two friends, connected by family histories on opposite sides of World War II, set out to explore the lasting trauma of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. While Japanese hibakusha endure lifelong health complications and psychological scars, American atomic veterans who witnessed the bombings’ aftermath struggle with radiation-related illnesses and PTSD.

“Outsider” - Aug. 7 at 8 p.m.

“Outsider” tells the story of Maury Ornest, on track to be a baseball star when his world was derailed by mental illness. His schizophrenia devastated his life and that of his kin. His sister Laura struggled to understand Maury’s destructive behavior and the limits of her help as she fought to keep her beloved family intact. When Maury died at age 58, Laura discovered over 1,400 paintings, sketches, and journal writings that revealed his rich, tormented inner world and demonstrated how painting had saved him. “Outsider” unfolds visually through Maury’s art and through his writings, voiced by comedian Gary Gulman. The film presents a rarely seen, unvarnished view of a family’s painful journey with mental illness and captures an unexpected way they found connection.

“Einstein and Hawking: Masters of Our Universe” Episode 1, Episode 2 - Aug. 11 and Aug. 18 at 10 p.m.

A look at two renowned scientists, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. Two titans of science, two mind-blowing theories — but who was the true master of the universe?

“Shaking It Up: The Life and Times of Liz Carpenter” - Aug. 13 at 1 p.m.

The story of a trailblazing journalist, White House official and feminist leader.

“The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concert: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band “ - Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 23 at 8 p.m.

Witness the legendary band on the cusp of superstardom in the “No Nukes” concerts of 1979, with recovered and restored footage of their epic performance. Features live favorites “Badlands,” “The Promised Land,” “Thunder Road,” “Born to Run” and more.

“Underground Railroad: The Paths & Places of Refuge” - Aug. 13 and Aug. 23 at 10 p.m.

Trace the dynamic journey from slavery to freedom through the personal accounts of William and Ellen Craft, an enslaved married couple who hid in plain sight while using multiple modes of transportation. Follow the path from Georgia to Philadelphia and explore the myriad ways enslaved individuals found their way to freedom using places of refuge that were havens for the Freedom Seekers.

“Legends of the Sky: The Liberty Plane” - Aug. 18 at 3 p.m.

When the United States entered World War I, its Army Air Service lacked a combat-ready aircraft – a liability that prompted a search to find an aircraft suitable for production at home and combat operations abroad. This documentary from Bowling Green filmmakers tells the story behind the single-engine DH-4 plane dubbed The Liberty Plane.

“History Uncovered - Kimono Dress: Japan’s Clothing” - Aug. 20 at 2:30 p.m.

In the 19th century, Japan opened its doors to the world. The Kimono Dress, emblematic of a broader clothing revolution, was introduced and became popularized as social norms and constructs began to evolve as well. This documentary sheds light on Japan’s forward-looking strategy as it joined the global community.

“Tommy Emmanuel (CGP): Live at the Sydney Opera House” - Aug. 20 at 8 p.m.

Join the man considered to be one of the greatest living guitarists for a magical concert at the Sydney Opera House in his native Australia recorded in May 2023. The setlist showcases his most beloved songs like “Tall Fiddler,” “Mombasa,” and “Country Wide,” plus an iconic arrangement of “Classical Gas,” and a thrilling Beatles medley.

“The Commodores Live” - Aug. 21 at 8 p.m.

Join one of the greatest Motown and R&B/funk vocal groups of all in this 2024 concert featuring their biggest hits, including chart toppers “Nightshift,” “Lady (You Bring Me Up),” “Sail On,” “Easy,” “Too Hot Ta Trot,” “Three Times a Lady,” “Brick House” and more.

“Rhode Island State Parks” - Aug. 25 at 3 p.m.

Filmed over a 10-year period and in all seasons on location in Rhode Island’s scenic state parks, beaches, and management areas, Rhode Island State Parks traces the park system’s 100-year history, and shares insights into each park’s unique story.

“Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision” - Aug. 24 and Aug. 28 at 8 p.m.

Rising from the rubble of a bankrupt Greenwich Village nightclub, Electric Lady Studios became a state-of-the-art recording facility inspired by Jimi Hendrix’s vision — the first artist-owned commercial recording studio. The program chronicles the studio’s creation, includes track breakdowns of Hendrix classics, and features interviews with original staff members and musical collaborators.

“Cozy Mysteries of MASTERPIECE Mystery!” - Aug. 26 at 9 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 2 p.m.

Discover the secrets of the “cozy mystery” in this exploration of the genre. Go behind the scenes of “Grantchester,” “Magpie Murders,” “Moonflower Murders,” “The Marlow Murder Club,” and “Miss Scarlet” to learn what makes these mysteries so enchanting.
