Organic Cooking Shows Bring New Flavor

Email share

Health-conscious recipes and plant-based diets have never been so delicious. Discover the simple joys and nutritional benefits of wholesome, organic cooking when two new programs arrive on Rhode Island PBS this February.

Whole grains and vegetables are key components of a balanced diet, and Christina Pirello pairs them perfectly in Christina Cooks: Back to the Cutting Board. In every episode, Christina prepares a medley of Italian and Mediterranean dishes, sharing her favorite recipes and candidly imparting her wisdom on liver, kidney, and heart health. Then, both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike are invited to bring more veggies into their main course; host Jamie Oliver cooks up a savory new approach to green cuisine in Jamie’s Ultimate Veg. Building his dishes around fresh ingredients from the produce section, Jamie turns ordinary vegetables into extraordinary meals. With hearty recipes and beautiful presentation, you’ll hardly miss the meat.

Christina Cooks: Back to the Cutting Boardairs on Sundays at 4 p.m., beginning February 2.

Jamie’s Ultimate Veg airs on Wednesdays at 7 p.m., premiering February 5.
