Discover New Local Artists with Season 2 of 'Ocean State Sessions'

Ocean State Sessions is back with a brand-new season! Filmed at the Narrows Center in Fall River, Ocean State Sessions Season 2 features local musicians performing original songs and sharing the stories behind them. New episodes are available every Sunday at 10 p.m.

Episode 1: Allison Rose / Ward Hayden & The OutliersMarch 19 at 10 p.m.

About Allison Rose:  Allison Rose is a RI-based singer/songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist. Allison writes honest, heartfelt songs, that are said to punch you in the gut. 

Songs performed: Satellite, Where Does a Prayer Go?, Monarch

About Ward Hayden & The Outliers:  Ward Hayden & The Outliers, formerly known as Girls Guns & Glory, is a band from Boston, Massachusetts. Featuring Ward Hayden, Josh Kiggans, Cody Nilsen, and Greg Hall, the band’s music is a mix of old-school country, early rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and country rock. 

Songs performed: Gasoline, Shelly Johnson, Nothing To Do (For Real This Time)

Episode 2: Lily Rhodes / Otis Read March 26 at 10 p.m. 

About Lily Rhodes:  Based in Warren, Rhode Island, Lily Rhodes is a singer/songwriter with a distinct and eclectic sound. Lily was on the path to becoming a writer, but after picking up a guitar, she realized she could transfer her skills to songwriting.

About Otis Read:  Performing since 1971, Otis Read is a singer/songwriter from Warren, Rhode Island. When he's not on stage, Read is a music teacher, providing guitar, banjo, and bass lessons.

Songs performed: You've Got A Home with Me, Roll The Other Way,Hot Summer Wind

Episode 3: Matt York / Evening Sky March April 2 at 10 p.m. 

About Matt York:  Matt York is a longtime singer and guitarist who has established a reputation as a leader of Boston's Americana/country scene. 

Songs performed: Gently Used, I Don't Love You Anymore, Attainable Fire

About Evening Sky:  Evening Sky is a Jazz/Roots Quartet featuring Chris Brooks, Joe Potenza, Gino Rosati, and Eric Hastings. The band combines the classic elements of American music (jazz, folk, R&B, and country) to form a unique, spirited sound.

Songs performed: Snake Oil, Where The Seas Meets The Stars, Goodbye Columbus 

Episode 4: Dan Brown / Neal McCarthy (w/ Mark Russell) April 9 at 10 p.m.

About Dan Brown:  Dan Brown is a Rhode Island native who grew up surrounded by music. His acoustic punk music is packed with emotion and energy.

Songs performed: Front Page, Turned Out, Down to Dismantle

About Neal McCarthy:  Neal McCarthy has logged over 30 years in the local scene, playing all over New England. He's considered a true soul man, equally adept at rock, blues, and country.

Songs performed: Pretty Peggy-O, See That My Grave Is Kept Clean, Fifty Two Weeks

Episode 5: Dave Alves / Cody Nilsen April 16 at 10 p.m.

About Dave Alves: Dave Alves is a local performer skilled in playing the guitar and piano. When he's not performing original acoustic songs, he's teaching piano lessons to students at DoubleBar Studio.

About Cody Nilsen:  Cody Nilsen is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and session musician. He's known for his work with Ward Hayden and The Outliers and is a sought-after guitar and pedal steel guitar player.

Episode 6: Alexus Lee / The Black Lights April 23 at 10 p.m. 

About Alexus Lee:  Born in Providence, Rhode Island, performer Alexus Lee is known for dazzling audiences with her soulful storytelling and masterful vocals. In 2022, she was nominated for a Rhode Island Music Award for "Best Vocalist."
