Climate Change: Ade on the Frontline

Head to the frontline of climate change with former Paralympian Ade Adepitan. In Climate Change: Ade on the Frontline, Adepitan travels the world to uncover solutions to environmental problems, whether natural or technological. As the ever-intensifying global climate crisis triggers erosion, wildlife loss, and unpredictable weather patterns, the three-part series begs to ask, “Is there enough time to save the planet?”

Climate Change: Ade on the Frontline airs Mondays at 10 p.m., beginning January 10 on WSBE Rhode Island PBS

Episode 1: The Soloman Island and Australia - January 10 at 10 p.m.

Host Ade Adepitan begins his journey into the climate crisis with visits to the Solomon Islands, the Great Barrier Reef, and Tasmania. Here at these locations, Adepitan witnesses the effect of rising tide levels on the Solomon Islands, learns about the “feminization” of green turtles in the Great Barrier Reef, and comes face-to-face with the terror of a bushfire.

Episode 2: Bangladesh and Bhutan - January 17 at 10 p.m.

With a visit to the low-lying country of Bangladesh, Adepitan learns of its vulnerability to the encroaching sea and the looming cyclones rolling in. Then, in the remote Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, Adepitan discovers how the melting Himalayan glaciers are affecting the entire world.

Episode 3: Scandinavia - January 24 at 10 p.m.

For the final leg of his climate crisis journey, Adepitan heads to Scandinavia. There, he travels through Sweden and Denmark to witness the rising temperatures. Then, in Copenhagen, he learns of the Danish capital's pledge to be carbon neutral by 2025. As the series concludes, Adepitan meets someone preparing for the apocalypse and talks with Greta Thurnberg about the younger generation’s determination to turn things around.
