Out of an abundance of caution and with respect for recent public health concerns of the local community, Rhode Island PBS has announced a new date for its biggest fundraising event of the year. As the nonprofit public television station celebrates the 20th anniversary of its signature event, An Evening Uncorked!, organizers will move the fine dining and wine night to Friday, October 16, 2020, at 7 p.m. The location is the same, the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center, 172 Exchange Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

"We are taking all the necessary steps to ensure the comfort and well-being of our guests," said David W. Piccerelli, president of Rhode Island PBS. "We want the best possible experience for everyone, and we believe that rescheduling the event is the most responsible course of action at this time."

Maria Lawton, host of the food and travel series Maria's Portuguese Table, will be the celebrity guest.

The food and wine event includes small bites prepared by local award-winning restaurants, caterers, and confectioners, as well as wine from top purveyors and private wine cellars.

Tickets will be available at ripbs.org later this summer.
