Email share

Fans of America’s Test Kitchenare invited to start the New Year in smart, tasty style when the hosts of their favorite show come to Providence on Thursday, January 23. Julia Colin Davison and Bridget Lancaster, cohosts of the most popular cooking show on Rhode Island PBS, plan a cooking demonstration and cookbook signing during the special event to benefit Rhode Island PBS.

America’s Test Kitchen celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the show hosts are touring to meet and greet their public television fans and to support the local television stations. The Providence ATK event will be held at the Community Auditorium at Boscov’s in the Providence Place Mall, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Complimentary light refreshments will be served. Parking in the mall garage is also free for the event. Snow date is January 30.

Tickets are $65 per person and include ATK’s 20th Anniversary Edition cookbook with more than 500 proven recipes ($40 list), plus a one-year membership to Rhode Island PBS, valued at $60. Membership includes access to RIPBS|Passport and PerksConnect, monthly eNewsletter, and 12 issues of Rhode Island Monthly magazine. Information and tickets to the America’s Test Kitchen cooking demonstration and book signing are available at ripbs.org.

“We are thrilled to welcome Julia and Bridget and America’s Test Kitchen back to Rhode Island. We thank Boscov’s for supporting Rhode Island PBS and making this event possible,” said David W. Piccerelli, president of Rhode Island PBS.

"I think Julia and Bridget are delightful – there’s great chemistry between them,” said Jim Boscov, chairman and CEO of Boscov’s. “The ATK cookbook is worth its weight in gold. It contains tried and tested recipes for almost everything. I’m not an experienced cook, but when I do cook and it has to come out right, I always choose a recipe from their cookbook,” he said.

“What a great event,” Mr. Boscov reflected. “Julia and Bridget in person, an autographed copy of the latest America’s Test Kitchen cookbook, and a Rhode Island PBS membership. It doesn’t get any better."
