Rhode Island PBS Foundation proudly announces the Rhode Island PBS Scholarship Fund. The establishment of this fund is made possible by using a portion of the proceeds the station received from its participation in the FCC’s spectrum auction in 2017.
The scholarship offers awards to residents of the station’s demographic market area (DMA) who demonstrate promise of a successful career in the fields of broadcasting, communications, or journalism.
To be considered, applicants must be a graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited 4-year post-secondary institution, or a student currently enrolled in such an institution.
Applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or professional who can attest to the applicant’s merit towards a successful career in the noted fields.
Awards of up to $15,000 will be made annually, and are renewable for up to an additional three years.
