  • abcteach.com
This is a great site for teachers of young children with many ideas for classroom use. March is National Reading month, so the site includes a reading chart that encourages students to read different types of books as well as signs, cereal boxes, and a variety of different types of material. For creating books, there are shapes that can be printed, copied, and cut out for shape books where students can write a story. Printable research cards are available for students to use when they are learning basic research skills.

  • Researchpaper.com
This link is a great starting point for students who are using the Web to do research and then write term papers. It offers "topics, ideas, and assistance" for school related research projects. • Statistics Every Writer Should Know
A little background goes a long way when you're trying to prove a point. This primer called Statistics Every Writers Should Know, explains in plain English a lot of statistical terms that non-mathematicians blithely misuse: means; median; margin of error; etc.

  • The Write Site
Students take on the role of journalists and learn the skills of conducting research, collating information and writing stories - just like real-life journalists. Ironically, when you first enter the site, it's a bit hard to find your way around. If you're a teacher, follow the non-intuitive link named "Editor's Desk" to the resource section for teachers. For students, the equally crpytic "Newsstand" is the interactive section for students.

  • Resources for Writers
The Purdue University Writing Lab has a wide variety of documents that will be valuable resources for those writing papers. The list of topics spans three pages, and contains such subjects as: Paraphrasing, Proofreading Strategies, Grammar Usage, and Letter Writing.
