This is a series of programs that provide discipline and career related information to help students explore advance technological education programs at community colleges.

Programs

1. Overview/Vignettes – Community colleges
are in the forefront of technology education. This overview introduces a range of innovated advance technological education programs at community colleges nationwide, including marine, information, agricultural, and process technologies; and biotechnology.

2. Biotechnology – Follow two community college students as they learn to use cells, genes, and bacteria to engineer new food and drugs, map the human genome, and find ways to prevent disease and detect biological treats.

3. Information Technology – Meet two community college students who are gaining the engineering, technical, mechanical, and analytical skills they need for rewarding careers in information technology. Follow them as they learn to use computer hardware and software for business data, voice communication, and even motion picture applications.

4. Marine Science – Meet two community college students who are gaining the science, engineering, and technology skills they need for rewarding careers in marine technology. Follow them as they learn to use a wide range of technology, including submersible robots, sonar, and underwater satellites.

5. Precision Agriculture – Follow two community college students as they learn to use sophisticated mapping instruments to provide the detail land and water information vital to precision farming and agricultural technology.

6. Process Technology - - Follow two community college students as they learn about process technology – How to break down raw materials and combine and refine them to make everything from fuel and plastics.

7. Success Stories – Meet six successful community college graduates now working in a variety of technological field, including engineering technology, biotechnology, and information and communication technology.
