Overview
WSBE Rhode Island PBS has broadcast the GED Connection
series since 1988 as part of its long-standing commitment
to adult literacy and education. In 2008, this series was
made available through video-on-demand for Rhode Islanders
without a high school diploma who wanted to develop specific
skills while studying for their GED tests.
This
series is made available through video streaming, which
offers users the convenience of watching, repeating, or
choosing specific lessons at any time from any Internet-connected
computer.
The
GED Connection series is a collection of 39 videos
covering the subjects and skills to work, community, and
home life. Practice tests help learners know what to expect
and see which skills they need to strengthen and build confidence.
The GED Connection videos give learners the opportunity
to hear from rocket scientists, historians, authors, and
economists-who make all the GED subjects come to life! All
39 half-hour videos are designed to help learners prepare
for the GED test.
The
GED Connection series demonstrates the Casio fx-260®
scientific calculator; explains grid answer formats; offers
practical advice for writing the essay; shows how to interpret
maps, charts, and graphics; presents topics in workplace
context; and gives cross-disciplinary practice.
